Mocktails- Lately I’ve been enjoying playing around with different mocktails. I use a base of flavored sparkling water. My favorites so far have been citrus-ginger and coconut. Then I add in some combination of mint, basil, cucumbers, limes and lemons. I've even tried berries. Sometimes I add some ginger beer or lemonade. Mocktails are so refreshing on summer evenings.

KP bump cream- Sometimes I get KP bumps on the back of my arms. Keratosis pilaris (KP) is a common, chronic skin condition that causes small, rough, scaly bumps on the skin. The bumps are caused by a buildup of keratin, a protein found in skin, hair, and nails, that plugs hair follicles. KP bumps can be flesh-colored, pink, or white, and can feel like sandpaper or chicken skin. They can appear anywhere on the body where there are hair follicles, but are most common on the upper arms. I saw this cream in a magazine and it really helps.

Quesabirria tacos- my daughter introduced me to these when I visited her last year. They are now my favorite Mexican food! I’ve even made them from scratch a couple times. Here is a link for the RECIPE that I used. Slow cooked meat (I use beef; some people use goat) in a broth made with a couple different kinds of peppers, tortillas dipped in the broth before making quesadillas with the meat and some cheese, add some onions and cilantro, and finally dip the tacos in the broth before you eat them. Soooo good! I order them any time they are on the menu. If you’ve never had them, you need to try them!

A new podcast- "Call it what it is."- This podcast is hosted by two actresses, Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington, that have starred Greys Anatomy, which is one of my all time favorite series. These two ladies are hilarious! They talk about quite a range of topics. My favorite one so far is called "Call it short & sweet: Unhinged at 30k feet." They are talking about the crazy things that they've heard about or experienced with airplane passengers. I listen to a podcast every morning when I’m getting ready and I really like this one because it makes me laugh. Since I'm not a morning person, anything I can do to start the day off right, is a good thing.
Reading every day- I’ve always enjoyed reading. I love that there is a little calendar on the Kindke app for my iPad. It keeps track of my reading streak. I am in the middle of 3 or 4 books, of varying topics- personal development, suspense, chic lit, and professional development. I like a variety! I do occasionally read a real book too.

Sunless tanner- Given my complexion and coloring, it’s probably not a big surprise that I don’t tan well from the sun. Not to mention, I don’t want to be at risk for skin cancer. Enter sunless tanning lotion. It seems like every year, I try to find a new one because I didn’t love the one from the year before. This year, I saw this one in an article about the best sunless tanners. I really like how to goes on and how long it lasts. And it doesn't do that weird, flaky thing that a lot of sunless tanners do. It kind of just fades. I don't try to get super dark or anything that would look strange, but I do like to keep the ghostly white away. You can find it at Ulta and Amazon.

Moscow mules- these are my go-to adult beverages lately. I know some people aren’t a fan of the ginger beer in them, but I love it. The basic Moscow mule has vodka, lime juice and ginger beer. Some are sweeter than others. There are a lot of variations. This particular one had those three ingredients plus blackberry puree. I've had ones with cherry juice and marionberry puree in them, as well. I've made one at home with cucumber and mint which I really liked.
This was a short and sweet post about things I'm loving right now. What are your favorite things?
